Help and contact for the Climber Map app.
Get in touch
Email support@climbermap.com. Climber Map is
made by one person, so replies are not instant, but every message is read.
If the app opens, Send feedback is the better route — it is on the
account page, and on the map as the envelope button. It attaches your app version and
recent errors, which is usually what turns "it didn't work" into something fixable. You
can see exactly what it attaches before sending: tap What gets sent with this.
Common things
- The map is empty and says no destination is downloaded.
-
Nothing ships with the app, so the first launch needs a network connection once. Tap
Browse destinations, then download one. After that the map, the
climbs, and the approach trails all work with no signal at all — which is the point.
- A download failed or will not finish.
-
Open the destination list and tap Retry. Trailhead and campground
Wi-Fi that asks you to sign in through a browser will stall a download without
failing it; turning Wi-Fi off and using mobile data is usually faster than arguing
with it.
- I signed in, but my saved climbs and logbook are gone.
-
Sign in the same way you did the first time. Accounts are matched by email address,
so Apple and Google find each other when they share one — but if you chose
Hide My Email with Apple, that is a different address from your Google one,
and the two are separate accounts holding separate saved climbs and logbooks.
- A sign-in sheet opens and then fails.
-
Email us with roughly when it happened and which button you tapped, so we can match
it against the logs.
- The blue dot is missing or in the wrong place.
-
Climber Map needs location permission to show where you are. If you declined it, it
is under Settings → Climber Map. Your position is drawn on your phone and never
leaves it — see the privacy policy.
- A grade, name, or location is wrong.
-
Please report it. Open the climb and use Send feedback, and say which
climb — the guidebook data is surveyed by hand, and being told what is wrong on the
rock is the only way it gets fixed.
- I want my account or my data removed.
-
You can delete your account from inside the app, and there are full instructions —
including what is kept and what is erased — on the
account deletion page.
